Chris is a sophomore on the Golden Eagle squad and brings with him an established career from high school and a strong resume from his freshman campaign...brings a competitive attitude to the course...also a solid achiever in the classroom...selected as a member of the Athletic Director's Honor Roll in recognition of his academic efforts.

AT TECH - (In 2010): A fixture in the Golden Eagle lineup in all seven meets in 2010, Chris finished as high as fourth on the squad...best showing was at the TTU Invitational, placeing fourth on the team and 10th overall in the time of 28:50...fastest time of the year was 27:53.05 at the Evansville meet, placing him fourth on the team.

(2009): Chris ran in all seven races in the cross country season and competed strongly during his freshman campaign...placed second in three races and third in another...achieved his best time of 27:24 at Sewanee, one of the meets where he attained a second-place finish...placed fifth for the team at the OVC meet and finished with a team sixth-place showing in the NCAA South Regional meet.

HIGH SCHOOL: Chris comes to Tech from Hamblen High School West in Morristown...he was a consistent and leading presence for the Trojans...competed both in cross country for Coach Raymond Farmer and track for Coach Alvin Sanders...won MVP honors for distance running for both track and cross country in his freshman and sophomore years...in his senior year, he was named the Most Consistent Runner in cross country...while with the Trojans, the team was state runners-up in 2008...best 5K time is 16:16, and best 3200m time is 9:46...also a strong performer in academics...recieved First Honors and was named among the Who's Who upon graduation.

The son of Thomas and Barbara Bishop...born February 6, 1991 in Saginaw, Michigan...majoring in engineering...brother Matthew is a freshman on the Tech cross country squad.
