RADFORD, Va. – Having to play shorthanded for the second-consecutive affair, the Tennessee Tech tennis team was unable to check the win column for a second-straight time, as the Golden Eagles fell 6-1 to Radford Saturday afternoon.

After collecting its first win of the spring behind a 4-3 triumph over UNC Greensboro on Saturday, Tech (1-7) once again fell behind early with the inability to field three complete doubles squads. The tandem of Elias Grubert and Mika Berghaus capped off a perfect weekend with a second-consecutive nod thanks to a 6-3 victory over Guilherme Severin and Konstantinos Raptis in the No. 2 spot.

Andre Rodeia and Evzen Holis fell 6-1 to Demis Taramonlis and Andres Silva in the top position, and with only five available Golden Eagles, Tech was forced to forfeit the third clash to drop the point.

The Golden Eagles had to forfeit the sixth singles slot to push the Highlanders (5-4) to a 2-0 edge and proceeded to drop four of the other five solo battles. Andre Rodeia picked up the lone win behind a 1-6, 6-4, 6-4 victory in the No. 4 affair.

Desmis Taramonlis earned a 6-3, 6-4 triumph over Mika Berghaus in the top clash, while Guilherme Severin notched a 2-6, 7-6 (7-5), 10-4 nod over Elias Grubert in the second slot and Andres Silva collected a 7-6 (7-4), 7-5 win against Evzen Holis in the No. 3 tilt to round out Radford's punch at the top of the lineup. Aditya Balsekar completed the Highlanders' singles wins with a 6-0, 7-5 decision over Jun Sasagawa in the No. 5 duel.

The Golden Eagles will remain on the road with a Sunday, Mar. 13 meeting at Middle Tennessee. First serve with the Blue Raiders is scheduled for 10 a.m. CT.
