ASHEVILLE, N.C. – It was a super Sunday for the Tennessee Tech tennis team.

A stellar showing during singles play, coupled with a strong performance in doubles action, paved the way for a TTU 5-2 victory at UNC Asheville for the first Golden Eagle win of the spring.

Tech (1-5) came out soaring during doubles play, capturing nods out of the No. 2 and No. 3 matchups en route to seizing the doubles point. TTU's No. 2 tandem of Eduardo Mena and Gonzalo Garcia registered a 6-3 win over Edward Colclough and Oli Nolan, while the combination of Arthur Justo and Wenceslao Albin took down Finlay Ray McFadyen and Andrew Sinai, 6-3, out of the No. 3 spot.

UNC Asheville's top-duo of Henry Patten and Olly Cull secured a 6-1 victory against Marc Mila and Jorge Alfonzo

The Golden Eagles parlayed their doubles momentum into success during singles play, behind wins in four of the six matchups over the Bulldogs (2-2).

Wenceslao Albin and Marc Mila made quick work of their battles with each collecting a straight-set victory. Albin notched a 6-3, 6-4 win over Oli Nolan in the No. 2 position and Mila seized a 6-2, 6-2 nod in the No. 3 matchup.

Jorge Alfonzo rounded out Tech's quartet of singles victories with a 6-4, 6-7, 6-3 triumph in the No. 3 spot.

UNC Asheville's pair of points came in the No. 1 and No. 6 affairs, as No. 43 Henry Patten tallied a 7-5, 7-6 win over No. 28 Eduardo Mena in the top spot, and Finley Ray McFadyen powered past Arthur Justo, 6-3, 6-4, in the No. 6 position.
