COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – With the start of the 2016 portion of the season rapidly approaching, the Tennessee Tech tennis team unveiled its spring schedule, a 19-match slate that features six home affairs, nine OVC tilts, and a whole host of intriguing non-conference road matches aimed to prepare the Golden Eagles for another run at a conference crown.

Having captured three of the last four regular season OVC championships, Tech embarks on the upcoming campaign with a trip to Nashville for the season opener against Lipscomb on Jan. 30. The battle with the Bisons kicks off a three-match road trip to christen the 2016 crusade, culminating with a Feb. 12 meeting at Florida Gulf Coast, the defending Atlantic Sun Champions and one of five schools that Tech will face that made it to the NCAA Tournament a year ago.

Following the trip to Fort Myers, the Golden Eagles will unwrap the first of six home matches, welcoming Chattanooga to Tech's campus courts on Feb. 18, before heading right back on the road for three consecutive, beginning with a quick cruise down I-40 to tangle with the University of Tennessee, the second of five against last year's NCAA Tournament field.

After a pair of matches in Winston-Salem, N.C. against Radford on March 5 and Wake Forest on Mar. 6, the Golden Eagles will return to Cookeville for their second home contest, a Mar. 10 meeting with USC-Upstate.

OVC action begins on Mar. 18 at Tennessee State, the first of two-straight conference clashes in Nashville as Tech will play at Belmont the following day. TTU's first of four OVC matches at home begins on April 1 with a meeting against Morehead State, before the Golden Eagles will hook up with the defending conference tournament champion, Eastern Kentucky, on April 2.

Tech will close out the regular season at home, squaring off with Austin Peay on April 15 and Murray State in the regular season finale on April 16.

The conference tournament is slated for April 22-24 in Nashville.

Admission to all home matches is free of charge. The first two tilts at home have 11 a.m. start times, the next two begin at 12 p.m., and the final two are scheduled to kick off at 1 p.m.
