Jorge was a mid-year addition to the roster, arriving in Cookeville in January in time for the spring semester…a versatile athlete who has competed in several sports, he can provide immediate depth to the Golden Eagle lineup…expected to open his career playing in the lower spots in the lineup as a true freshman, but has potential to climb over the coming years.
AT TECH (2014-15): Jorge was added to the roster in January 2015 when he enrolled at Tech.
BEFORE TECH: A native of Valencia, Venezuela, Jorge was active in a variety of sports prior to his arrival at Tech…active in ITF Tennis tournaments…also competed in swimming, karate, track & field and baseball...won several karate titles...heavily influenced by coaches Julio Cancelado and Jim Lewis...invited to play in the 2009 Orange Bowl Tennis championships in Miami...ranked as the No. 1 Boys U-18 tennis player in Venezuela...three invitations to Los Angeles for tournament play...competed in several Futures ATP tournaments...was among the elite 250 players at the ATP Pre-Qualifying in L.A.
