Golden Eagle tennis team concludes fall season at Winthrop Fall Invitational

ROCK HILL, S.C. - It's the beginning of the end of the fall season for the Tennessee Tech tennis team as the Golden Eagles head to South Carolina for the Winthrop Fall Invitational from Friday, Nov. 1 to Sunday, Nov. 3.

Five Golden Eagles will make the trip with head coach Kenny Doyle, with four competing in both singles and doubles play.

Starting things off for the Golden Eagles will the doubles team of Vasily Eremeev and Oleksiy Arovin. The Tech duo will face off against the Presbyterian team of Mills/Roberts in an 8 a.m. CDT start at the Rock Hill Tennis Center.

Also participating in doubles play for Tech is the duo of Artem Tarasov and Gagan Jain. They will take on the Wofford team of Heffron/Bower, also at 8 a.m. at the Rock Hill Tennis Center.

In singles play, Eremeev will begin things at 1:30 p.m. at Winthrop's Memorial Courts, playing against JP Boada of Winthrop in the Division 1 Singles Main Draw. Tarasov will also compete at 1:30 p.m., facing off against Rafael Berghaus of Presbyterian at the Rock Hill Tennis Center.

At 3 p.m., Arovin will hit the courts for a match against Haris Poric of Wofford, playing at the Memorial Courts. Jain will start at 3 p.m. with a contest against Duke's Dan McCall at the Rock Hill Tennis Center. Alvaro Cintas will play in a play-in match against host Winthrop's JD O'Brien.
