Jacksonville State visits Wednesday to test surging Golden Eagles

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech looks to continue its league success Wednesday as it hosts Jacksonville State at 1 p.m. on the Tech Tennis Courts. The match was rescheduled from two weeks ago due to poor weather conditions.

Tech is currently 4-0 in the conference, which has coach Kenny Doyle's Golden Eagles tied with Austin Peay for first place in the OVC. Tech has won 12 consecutive regular season OVC matches, including an 8-0 record last year and four outings this season.

The Golden Eagles completed a two-game sweep this past weekend after they defeated Morehead State, 4-3, on Saturday, and Eastern Kentucky, 4-3, on Sunday. The Gamecocks lost to Eastern Kentucky, 5-2, but found success against Morehead, 4-3. Jacksonville State is 3-1 in conference play this season.

Tech is 8-5 all-time against Jacksonville State, winning the previous four matches. Tech and JSU last met in the 2012 OVC Tournament Semifinals, where the Golden Eagles won, 4-3.

Admission is free to all Tech matches which will take place on the campus courts.
