One of three newcomers on the 2011-12 Golden Eagle roster,
Ezequiel Gils was the lone freshman to join the squad in August to
begin his Golden Eagle career. A native of Uruguay, he moved to the
Florida to attend high school and received his training at the
prestigious Bolattteri Tennis Academy in Bradenton, Fla. He
returned to his native country following graduation from high
school and has been playing in national tournaments, earning a
ranking of No. 9 among men's players in Uruguay.
BEFORE TECH: Ezequiel started his tennis lessons
at an early age with his parents at the Club National de
Futball...by the time he was nine years old, he made a switch for
four years of lessons at the Cantegril Country Club...by the time
he was high school age, he moved to Bradenton where he began
training at the Bolatteri Tennis Academy...he spent two years at
the Bradenton School and two addition years at Bolatteri...during
those two seasons he competed in a variety of USTA Tournaments.
PERSONAL: Ezequiel is the son of Eduardo Gils and
Monica Monzon...birthdate is December 10, 1992...full name is
Ezequiel Ignacio Gils Monzon...majoring in computer
engineering.
