Men’s tennis to compete at Louisville Winter Invitational this weekend

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - Eight men's tennis players will represent Tennessee Tech this weekend at the Louisville Winter Invitational in the second fall tournament that the Golden Eagles have taken part in at the University of Louisville. Matches will be played both indoors and outdoors at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.

So far this fall, members of the men's tennis team have participated in two tournaments - most recently the Troy Invitational where freshman Nicholas Stafford captured the singles "C" title.

Stafford will be in action again this weekend along with teammates Alex Chen, Josh Girling, Oscar Pachon, Lloyd Harris, Mario Gutierrez, Yianni Doropoulos and Justin Kirstein.

The Louisville Winter Invitational begins on Friday, Oct. 16 and will wrap up on Sunday, Oct. 18 with three divisions in both singles and doubles. Eleven teams from around the region will participate, including Eastern Kentucky, Indiana, IU-Southeast, Kentucky, Lipscomb, Louisville, Morehead State, Tennessee Tech, Western Kentucky, Wright State and Xavier.

First round doubles action kicks off the three-day tournament at 9 a.m. on Friday.
