Oscar was a standout player for the Golden Eagles as a freshman
and should continue that trend through the next three years...a
versatile player, he rises to the occasion no matter where he's
placed in the lineup.
At Tech
In 2009-2010 (Sophomore): Oscar went 4-6 in his singles
matches and 2-3 in doubles play during the fall tournament
season.
In 2008-09 (Freshman): In his first season in the Golden
Eagle lineup, Oscar emerged as one of the most consistent players
on the squad despite seeing time at four different singles
spots...overall he posted a 15-4 singles record, all in dual
matches, and was 7-1 in OVC play...was 1-1 at No. 3 and 0-1 at No.
4 spots...earned a 13-2 record in the bottom two positions,
including an 11-2 record at No. 5 and 2-0 at No. 6...finished the
season with a seven-match win streak in duals...compiled a 12-5
record in doubles, including a 12-4 mark at No. 3 while paired with
Justin Kirstein.
Before Tech: Oscar was a highly recruited junior
player...part of the No. 1 juniors doubles team while he was in the
14 and 16 age groups... won the singles national title in Colombia
while 14 and finalist at 16... played in several ATP tournaments
throughout South America.
Personal: Oscar Luis Pachon Herrera is the son of Luis Oscar Pachon Garcia and Myriam Stella Herra of Bogota, Colombia...one brother, Fabian (12) and one sister, Carolina (19)... born on September 17, 1990...major is civil engineering.
