Golden Eagles finish fall campaign seventh at Pinetree Intercollegiate

KENNESAW, Ga. – The Tennessee Tech men's golf team wrapped up its fall campaign at the Pinetree Intercollegiate Tuesday afternoon, concluding the event at Pinetree Country Club in Kennesaw, Ga. seventh overall among 11 teams.

The Golden Eagles endured a rough day of conditions on the course that saw inflated scores across the field, posting a 314 for a 903 total. Only tournament champion Mercer managed a score under 300 on the day, posting a 295 for an 866 final. Mercer's Tobias Jonsson took home medalist honors, leading all individuals with a 68-72-70=210. 

For Tech, Jackson Skeen continued his torrid play from the start of the season straight through the fall, turning in a runner-up performance for his fourth All-Tournament honor this year. The sophomore carded four birdies on the day, posting a 1-over 73 to finish with a 214 total score.

Rookie Haden Maxwell tied for eighth among the 63 competitors, putting forth a 75 behind three birdies. He shot a 220 for his first career top-10 finish. Fellow freshman Anders Larson delivered a pair of birdies while shooting an 82 and tying for 34th overall.

Tying for 53rd was senior Chance Taylor, posting an 84 with a pair of birdies. He totaled a 240 for the week. Junior Sean Anderson capped off the tournament with a 92, totaling 252.

Tech will head into winter break and officially kick off the spring campaign at the Carpenter-Chaney Classic match play event. Hosted by Morehead State and UT Martin, the tournament will take place at Indiana River Preserve Golf Club in Mims, Fla.
