COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech men's golf head coach Polk Brown announced the addition of one more student-athlete for the 2021-22 athletic season, with University of Tennessee transfer Jackson Skeen rounding out the recruiting class for the Golden Eagles.

JACKSON SKEEN
Hometown: Jonesborough, Tenn.
High School: Science Hill High School
Previous School: Tennessee

Skeen was a four-year letterwinner for head coach Kevin Vannoy at Science Hill High School in Johnson City, Tenn., leading his team to the TSSAA Boy's Golf Large Class State title in 2018. He also took home the 2018 TSSAA Large Class Individual Championship, firing a 1-under 71 to become Science Hill's first-ever individual state champion.

The incoming redshirt freshman was named Big 7 Conference Player of the Year each of his final three years in high school and collected TSWA All-State honors in both 2016 and 2018. Skeen led SHHS to runner-up showings in both the 2016 and 2019 TSSAA Large Class State Championships in addition to the 2018 title.

On the AJGA circuit, Skeen boasted nine top-20 finishes, including a win at the Sneds Tour Elite. After sitting out the 2020-21 campaign at Tennessee as a redshirt, the Jonesborough native turned in a spectacular summer competing in the Tri-Cities Amateur Tour. He fired a tournament single-round, record-tying 64 to help win the Tillinghast Invitational in June and followed it up with a victory at the Link Hills Invitational.

"We are very excited to have Jackson join us this year as he will be an outstanding addition to our program. He boasts a very solid resume and, above all else, he's a great young man. We look forward to seeing what his future holds here at Tennessee Tech."
