Tech men's golf team kicks off 2019-20 slate at EKU Intercollegiate

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech men's golf team will officially kick off the 2019-20 campaign Saturday, Sept. 14 with the first two rounds of the EKU Intercollegiate sponsored by Raising Cane's. The two-day, 54-hole event will run through Sunday and take place at the University Club at Arlington.

EKU INTERCOLLEGIATE: Sept. 14-15, 2019 – 54 holes (36 Saturday, 18 Sunday), located at the par-70, 6,623-yard University Club at Arlington in Richmond, Ky. Teams will kick off with a 7:30 a.m. CT shotgun start on Saturday and will begin play on Sunday with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start.

GOLDEN EAGLE LINEUP: Competing for the Golden Eagles are junior Will Brooks, sophomore Bryce Beeler, senior Cameron Yeary, sophomore Chance Taylor and freshman Nick Sutton.

THE COMPETITION: The 12-team field consists of host Eastern Kentucky, as well as, Bowling Green, Cleveland State, Evansville, Morehead State, Murray State, Northern Kentucky, Ohio, SIUE, Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech and UT Martin.

THOUGHTS FROM COACH BROWN: "After a marathon of qualifying rounds, we are ready to get the season started at EKU. The course sets up very well for our guys and we should have a great opportunity for success. They are ready to get after it."

WHAT TO WATCH FOR: The Golden Eagles last played in EKU's fall event during the 2017-18 campaign, placing 10th among a large field of 16 teams. Both Brooks and Yeary participated in the last trip, with both showing the ability to score some on the course.
