Golden Eagle men's golf team poised for OVC Championship run

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech men's golf team has an Ohio Valley Conference title in mind as it heads for Muscle Shoals, Ala. and the OVC Championships. Taking place on the Fighting Joe course at The Shoals, play will run from Sunday, Apr. 21 through Tuesday, Apr. 23.

OVC CHAMPIONSHIPS: Apr. 21-23, 2019 – 54 holes (18 Sunday, 18 Monday, 18 Tuesday), located at the par-72, 7,214-yard Fighting Joe course at The Shoals, part of the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, in Muscle Shoals, Ala. Teams will kick off action each day with tee times beginning at 8:00 a.m. CT.

GOLDEN EAGLE LINEUP: Competing for the Golden Eagles are sophomore Will Brooks, sophomore Bracton Womack, senior Matthew Giles, freshman Bryce Beeler and junior Cameron Yeary.

THE COMPETITION: The 11-team field consists of Austin Peay, Belmont, Eastern Illinois, Eastern Kentucky, Jacksonville State, Morehead State, Murray State, SIUE, Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech and UT Martin.

THOUGHTS FROM COACH BROWN: "The guys have a lot of confidence riding into our conference championship. They have experienced a lot of success this spring, and we see no reason why we can't continue that strong play at the OVCs. They have been working hard all year for this, and we are excited for this opportunity which stands before us."
