DULUTH, Ga. – The Tennessee Tech men's golf team completed day one of the Autotrader Collegiate Classic Monday afternoon, showing improvement from round one to two at Berkeley Hills Country Club.

The Golden Eagles posted a 294 in the first round, but were quick to rally for a better showing in their second time around the course. Tech posted a 288 in the second round, totaling a 582 overall to round out the first day of competition to rank 11th overall.

The team's improvement into the second round came with a bit of a peculiar stat line. All five Golden Eagles fired off even-par 72s their second time out, combining for the 288.

Sophomore Bracton Womack led the Tech effort on Monday, carding back-to-back rounds of even-par golf. He tied for 32nd among the 75 competitors with a 144 (72-72).

Just a shot back were fellow sophomore Will Brooks and junior Cameron Yeary. Both men tallied first-round marks of 73 to go with their even-par rounds later in the day. Brooks and Yeary tied for 36th in the field with matching scores of 145 (73-72).

Also twinning things up for the day were senior Matthew Giles and junior Dabney Dickenson. Both players completed their first 18 holes with scores of 76. Overall, they compiled 148 (76-72) each, tying for 51st.

Georgia Southern led all teams by firing a tournament record-tying round of 273 early and following it up with a 274 for a total score of 547. Georgia Southern's Steven Fish led all golfers by a whopping six shots, completing the first day with back-to-back 65s for a 130 overall.
