Spring 2018 (Freshman): Brooks competed in all six of the team’s spring tournaments, racking up 18 rounds of action… earned his second All-Tournament honors while carding a 72-73-74=219 to tie for fifth at the OVC Championships (Apr. 23-25)… also turned in a 219 at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate, posting rounds of 74, 71 and 74… shared the team’s Impact Award with teammate Bracton Womack… sported the lowest scoring average for a Tech freshman in over a decade, finishing at 74.25.

Fall 2017 (Freshman): Brooks played in five of Tech’s six fall events, totaling 14 rounds of play… broke the program’s freshman scoring record with a 6-under 66 in the second round of the MTSU Intercollegiate (Oct. 30), the eighth-lowest single round in program history… earned a third-place finish in the event, his first All-Tournament honor… made his collegiate debut with a top-25 finish at the Murray State Invitational (Sept. 11-12), turning in a season-low 70-75-73=218… posted a 218 to finish in the top-10 at the Samford Intercollegiate (Oct. 23-24), with rounds of 72, 71 and 75… finished the fall with a scoring average of 73.43.

High School: Brooks was a four-year letterwinner at Cookeville High School, playing for head coach Larry Pitts… named district Co-Player of the Year as a senior… earned All-Midstate recognition as a sophomore… helped CHS to district titles all four years and to region titles as a freshman and sophomore… led team to appearances at the state tournament as a freshman and sophomore… saw consistent improvement in scoring averages throughout his career, posting averages of 75.4 as a freshman, 74.2 as a sophomore, 72.7 as a junior and 70.5 as a senior… also played basketball for head coach Matt Hill.

Personal: Son of Sam and Tera Brooks… born January 7, 1999… full name is William Brooks… father, Sam, played football at Tech from 1986-1990 and serves as an analyst for Golden Eagle football games on WCTE-TV.

Academic: Majoring in basic business… named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll once.
