Tech concludes action at Mason Rudolph Championship after rained-out Saturday

FRANKLIN, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech men's golf team concluded play at the Mason Rudolph Championship Sunday afternoon after seeing Saturday's attempted final round rained out at Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tenn.

The Golden Eagles made a move up the rankings to finish 14th in the event, passing High Point after posting a final round of 310 and 938 overall. Host Vanderbilt claimed the tournament title after rallying back from third place, posting a 278 on day three for an 853.

Vandy's John Augenstein won the individual medalist honors after a third-round 67 for a 206, besting Alabama's Davis Shore by five strokes.

Golden Eagle senior A.J. Wilkerson led his team's efforts throughout the weekend, posting a team-best 232 behind rounds of 82, 76 and 74. He finished 69th among the 82 participants.

Junior Matthew Giles finished next in the Tech lineup, carding a 78-76-82=236. Posting a 240 was freshman Will Brooks, who scored an 87 in round three after first-round marks of 79 and 74.

Just behind Brooks among Tech's finishers was senior Alexander Riddle. The veteran concluded his last regular season event in the purple and gold with rounds of 86, 78 and 77 for a 241 overall. Rookie Bracton Womack rounded out the Golden Eagles with a 243, turning in rounds of 85, 81 and 77.

The Golden Eagles will now concentrate on the Ohio Valley Conference Championships next week. Play is set for Monday, Apr. 23 through Wednesday, Apr. 25 at the Fighting Joe Course at The Shoals, part of the Robert Trent Jones Trail, in Muscle Shoals, Ala.
