Golden Eagles in ninth place at TSU's Big Blue Intercollegiate through round two

OLD HICKORY, Tenn. – After the first day of play at the Big Blue Intercollegiate at President's Reserve Course at Hermitage Golf Club, the Tennessee Tech men's golf team finished rounds one and two in ninth place of a 13-team field.

The Golden Eagles fired back-to-back rounds of 311, sitting 11 strokes back of seventh place of John A. Logan College. UT Martin sat at the top spot in the event on day one, firing an incredible 287 in the second round for a 587.

A.J. Wilkerson led the way, tying for 14th place in the field of 70. The junior shot a six-over 78 in round one before recovering for an even-par 72 in the second round, finishing at 150 overall.

Freshman Charles Seals enjoyed a successful day, tying for 18th at just one stroke back of Wilkerson. He worked a 74 over the first 18 holes before wrapping the day up with a 77. Fellow rookie Cameron Yeary also sat just one stroke back of Seals, tying for 23rd after firing a 77-75=152.

Completing Tech's list of participants was another freshman, Dabney Dickenson, who posted an 82-87=169.

The Golden Eagles will wrap up play at the Big Blue Intercollegiate Tuesday with an 8:00 a.m. CT shotgun start.
