Golden Eagles in 11th place through first two rounds of Fort Lauderdale Intercollegiate

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – With the first two rounds of the Fort Lauderdale Intercollegiate officially in the books, the Tennessee Tech men's golf team will officially set its sights on round three Tuesday morning after tallying scores of 311 and 319 on Monday.

Heading into the final round of play at Fort Lauderdale Country Club, the Golden Eagles ranked 11th of the 14 participating teams just four shots behind Stetson and a single stroke ahead of Hartford.

Leading the way for the Tech squad on Monday was junior A.J. Wilkerson. The veteran tied for 21st among the 84 participants, carding rounds of 75 and 76 for a 7-over 151.

Junior Alexander Riddle and sophomore Matthew Giles both tied for 50th on the first day, posting scores of 158. Giles tallied rounds of 77 and 81 while Riddle concluded the day with an 80 and 78.

Freshmen Dabney Dickenson and Cameron Yeary rounded out the participants for the Golden Eagles, with Dickenson leading the two rookies with marks of 79 and 84 for a 163. Yeary finished the first day of spring action with an 80-86=166.

Play for round three is set to commence with tee times beginning at 7:00 a.m. CT starting at hole No. 10.
