Cunningham leads Tech men after two rounds at Grover Page Classic

JACKSON, Tenn. -- Cookeville native Adam Cunningham leads the Tennessee Tech men's golf team after shooting a 75+74=149 in the first two rounds of the Grover Page Classic in Jackson, Tenn. The Golden Eagles are currently in seventh place.

The freshman shot a 2.75 average on par 3's through two rounds, the best among the 75 golfers in the tournament. Cunningham currently sits in a tie for 14th place, just one stroke back of sophomore Lee Whitehead, who is competing individually this week.  Fellow freshman Mitch Thomas carded a 77+75=152 to rank second-best on the squad, followed by Bryce Kendrick, Greg Kitts and Maxx Verble.

The Golden Eagles improved their team score by four strokes from the first round and lead Ohio Valley Conference rivals Tennessee State and Morehead State by two and four rounds, respectively. 

Final round action is set to begin with an 8:30 start Tuesday at the Jackson Country Club. A full recap will be posted on TTUSports.com once results are in.
