A late addition to the Golden Eagle roster for 2012-13, Tanner spent the past two years playing at Walters State Community College...became eligible to play for Tech late in the fall semester.

2012-13: Tanner competed in just one tournament in each of the fall and spring seasons for the Golden Eagles. His lowest round of the year was a third-round 75 at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate in October, where he shot a 76 a day earlier and tied for 68th. In the spring, Tanner participated in Tech's Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate, carding identical rounds of 81 to finish tied for 52nd. He owned an average of 79.2 for the year.

BEFORE TECH: Tanner played two seasons on the golf team at Walters State Community College for coach Bill Gardner...was voted Junior College Academic All-America both years.

HIGH SCHOOL: A four-year letterwinner for coach Nick Cantrell at Cleveland High School...earned all-tournament honors in his senior season at both the district and regional events.

PERSONAL: The son of Tony and Dana Garland...full name is Tanner Paul Garland...born May 20, 1991 in Cleveland, Tenn...majoring in civil engineering.
