Blizzard expected Monday inside Eblen Center when Tigers visit TTU

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- In the first of three final home games of the regular season, the Tennessee Tech men's basketball team will go up against TSU on Monday in a single game event, starting at 7 p.m.

The game is also the first of two final conference games of the regular season, and both teams will be battling to move up in conference standings with the OVC Tournament looming. Tech currently sits in fourth place with a 10-6 record (14-11 overall), while the Tigers of TSU are holding down the no. 6 spot with their own 8-7 record (11-14 overall).

On January 22 in Nashville, Tech shouldered a 71-65 loss to the Tigers, which narrowed the lifetime series to a one-game lead for the Golden Eagles, 26-25. This time around, Tech will look to junior Kevin Murphy, who put up his first career double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds against TSU, to lead the way to a win in Cookeville.

Tech is coming off of an 85-71 road win over UT Martin, while the Tigers will need to bounce back from two straight losses to Jacksonville State and Austin Peay on the road.

Monday night's game will also mark the return of the blizzard to the Eblen Center, a Tech tradition of making the Hoop "snow" after the first basket made by the Golden Eagles.

Fans who cannot make it to the Hoop for the Monday night game can follow the Live Stats here, or listen to Roger Ealey call the action on the Golden Eagle Sports Network or on free Teamline on the phone or internet. As always, tickets are available online at TTUsports.com or by calling the Tech ticket office at 931-372-3940.
