In 2009-10 (Sophomore): During his sophomore season, Bassey appeared in 31 games, starting 13 of them, and logging 530 mintues on the season for an average of 17.1 minutes per game. The 6'8" forward recorded 89 rebounds for Tech and lead the team in blocks with 23 - a statistic that ranked 10th in the OVC and earned him the Blocked Shots team award. He added 132 points to the team total for the 2009-10 season, averaging 4.3 points per game.
In 2008-09 (Freshman): Bassey played in all 30
games for Tech, and made seven starts...scored in double figures on
two occasions, with 10 points against Union on Dec. 14, and 10
points of 5-for-7 shooting against Eastern Kentucky on Jan.
10...grabbed a season-high six rebounds on Nov. 29 at
Louisiana-Monroe...shot .591 (39-for-66) from the field for the
season.
High School: Rated among the Top 25 Players in
the state of Georgia by Rivals.com...was named Most Improved Player
on his team as a sophomore and won the Most Outstanding Player
award as a junior...played for coach Gerald Arnold... helped the
team claim a runnerup finish in Region 7-5A and reach the Sweet 16
