COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - The Tennessee Tech men's basketball team will
return to action for the first time in 11 days when it hosts Union
College on Wednesday night in Eblen Center. Tip off against the
Bulldogs is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., and the game will be the
second half of a double-header, as the Golden Eagle women will face
Bluefield College at 5:30 p.m.
Tech enters the game looking to win three straight games for the
first time this season. The Golden Eagles are coming off wins
against Ball State (12/12) and Bryan College (12/19). Tech holds a
4-2 all-time record against Union, and the Bulldogs come into Eblen
Center at 7-7 overall and 3-1 in the Appalachian Athletic
Conference. Tech is 5-6 overall and 0-1 in the Ohio Valley
Conference.
Tennessee Tech associate head coach Steve Payne is familiar with
Union College, as he earned his bachelor's degree from Union in
1990. Payne also served as an assistant coach for the Bulldogs in
1990-91.
The game will be broadcast live locally and worldwide. Local fans

After the New Year the Golden Eagles will jump back into OVC play,
with a trip to Southeast Missouri (Jan. 2) and Eastern Illinois
(Jan. 4) before returning home to face Morehead State (Jan. 7) and
Eastern Kentucky (Jan. 9) to wrap up a stretch of five games in 11
days.
