Women's go for win No. 800 at 2 p.m.
Men's all-or-nothing game at 4 p.m.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Tech basketball teams close out
the 2008-09 regular season Saturday afternoon with a matinee
doubleheader against Jacksonville State. Both games carry plenty of
meaning for the Golden Eagle squads.
For the Tech women, the game offers the opportunity to record the
800th win in the program's incredible history, although it doesn't
mean anything for the Golden Eagles plans for the balance of the
year. Tech has locked up the No. 7 seed in next week's tournament,
and will play at either Tennessee State or Eastern Illinois next
Tuesday night.
For the Tech men, however, this game against the Gamecocks means
everything as far as the rest of the season goes. It's a one-game,
all-or-nothing battle with Jacksonville State for the No. 8 seed in
the tournament. A Tech win, and the Golden Eagles will play next
Tuesday at the No. 1 seed. With a loss at JSU, the Golden Eagles
season is finished.
Both games can be followed with the broadcasts on the Golden Eagles
Sports Network, or via FREE Teamline on the telephone or the
Internet. Fans can also watch the live web stream at OVCsports.TV.
Another way to keep up with the action is via live stats, provided
by JSU, at their website www.jsugamecocksports.com.
