Title: Assistant Coach - Tight Ends

As Tennessee Tech head football coach continues to build his staff, he will bring in an exciting young talent who has already worked with offensive coordinator Brian Scott as Ben Blessing joins the Golden Eagle coaching staff as a tight ends coach.

“I’m thankful and super excited for the opportunity to join Coach Wilder and his staff as we take Tennessee Tech to new heights,” Blessing said. “Time to get to work in the trenches and build something special. Wings up!”

Wilder said: “We are happy to announce Ben Blessing will be joining our staff as the tight ends coach. He did a very good job at New Hampshire last year working with our new offensive coordinator Brian Scott developing one of the top offenses in the country. Our tight ends will be excited to work with and learn from Coach Blessing.”

Blessing was at New Hampshire this past season assisting with the offensive line with Scott. Blessing oversaw the daily drills and went over the scouting reports with the position group, while also helping Scott with the film to look for tendencies, while also helping him learn how the opponents could shift in-game.

He also helped with recruiting and evaluating potential student-athletes through on-campus recruiting in camps and visits.

This past season, New Hampshire ranked tied for 10th in total offense at 434.4 yards per game, while the passing unit averaged 317.8 yards per game, ranked fourth in the Football Championship Subdivision. The offensive line allowed just 11 sacks on the season, while the running attack was able to average 4.6 yards per carry.

Blessing, a May 2023 graduate from Holy Cross, earned his bachelor’s degree in history. While he was a student-athlete there on the offensive line, he helped protect the Crusader rushing attack to claim top 20 finishes, including a No. 6-ranking in the FCS in 2022 and 11th in total offense.

Holy Cross made four straight FCS Playoff appearances in his tenure, reaching further into the playoffs each season, including a quarterfinals appearance in his final campaign.
