Tech's Canadian signees ranked in Top 20 of CFC100

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – With HERO Sports announcing its Football Championship Subdivision rankings on signing classes and signees, there are also a few other members of the Tennessee Tech 2019 football signing class that has also garnered some recognition of their own.

Kail Dava and Taylor Burns, Tech's Canadian signees are both among the top 20 of Canadian Football Chat's CFC100 rankings with Dava taking the No. 12 spot and Burns at No. 16.

Dava, a 6-4, 280-pound defensive tackle out of Mississauga, Ontario, received offers from Delaware State and Kent State. Dava played for Clarkson Football North and had been named the team's Rookie of the Year, Most Valuable Player and Defensive MVP. Dava is an early enrollee at the University and is already taking classes.

Burns, a 6-4, 309-pound offensive lineman, won gold as a member of Team Canada in the U-20 division at the IFAF World Championship of American Football, was named All-IAC first team and named to the 2016 NBIAA All-Provincal team. He has played the last two years at Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Va. Burns had offers from Rice, Toledo, Bryant, Delaware State, Howard, North Carolina Central and Sacred Heart.
