COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Saturday's Ohio Valley Conference game
between Tennessee Tech and the twelfth-ranked Eastern Kentucky
Colonels will be aired by ESPN3, the first of two productions this
year in Tucker Stadium by the worldwide leader in sports.
Kickoff for the contest is set for 7 p.m. Dave Weekley will call
the play-by-play and be joined in the booth by former James Madison
head coach Mickey Matthews with analysis and color commentary.
Tech's game on Nov. 8 against Southeast Missouri will be the OVC
Game of the Week, bringing ESPN3 back to Cookeville. Another
upcoming Tech contest, the Nov. 1 tilt with Eastern Illinois, is a
Wild Card game which means it could also be selected for the OVC
Game of the Week.
Adding this week's game to the ESPN3 lineup was something Tennessee
Tech Director of Athletics Mark Wilson negotiated during the
summer. It was part of an agreement to postpone playing a game
against the University of Houston, originally scheduled for 2014,
until next season and adding a contest this year with the
University of Northern Iowa.
With ESPN3 producing the game, it will be available on the
Internet via the ESPN family of sites only. The game will not be
aired in the region by WCTE TV, and will not be available on the
OVC Digital Network.
Check TTUsports.com for information on all games and how to follow
the Golden Eagles when you cannot attend in person.
Saturday night's game is Golden Eagle Blackout III, with fans
encouraged to wear black to the stadium. The first 2,500 fans into
the stadium will receive free Blackout t-shirts. Gates open at 6
p.m. For more information, please contact the Athletics Ticket
Office in Eblen Center at (931) 372-3940.
