All-America teams
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee Tech senior punter Chad Zinchini
has earned second-team All-America honors from College Sports
Madness.
Zinchini is one of eight players from the Ohio Valley Conference
to earn FCS All-America honors from CSM, including three
first-team, three second-team and two third-team picks.
First-team picks from the OVC are Eastern Illinois quarterback
Jimmy Garappolo and wide receiver Eric Lora, and Tennessee State
tight end A.C. Leonard. Named second-team along with Zinchini are
UT Martin wide receiver Jeremy Butler and Tennessee State defensive
back Daniel Fitzpatrick. The third-team OVC selections are RB
Demarcus James of Jacksonville State and linebacker Tony Bell from
UT Martin.
Zinchini was named first-team all-OVC by the conference as well as
College Sports Madness. He led the league and set a school record
by averaging 45.7 yards per kick in 2013, ranking second in the
Football Championship Subdivision. Zinchini and lineman Wesley
Sherrill will play next week in the FCS All-Star game in Myrtle
Beach.
