ATLANTA, Ga. -- Sunday's NFL playoff game between the Seattle
Seahawks and Atlanta Falcons forced some mixed feelings for
Tennessee Tech fans. The Falcons, who won a thriller in the final
seconds, are coached by former TTU assistant Mike Smith while
former Golden Eagle tackle Frank Omiyale plays for Seattle.
After leading 20-0 at halftime, the Falcons watched as Omiyale and
the Seahawks put together a sensational, improbable second-half
comeback to take a 28-27 lead in the final half-minute.
But Smith's Falcons found a way to rally, moving downfield with
two completions, allowing placekicker Matt Bryant to make a 49-yard
field goal with eight seconds remaining to put Atlanta on top,
30-28, a lead that stood up against one last-ditch effort by
Seattle.
