Sharphad a great freshmen year of kicking for the team... has a strong leg with great range... expected to continue fulfilling duties as Tech's primary kicker... expected to continue progressing in strength and accuracy in his second year.

AT TECH (In 2011): Sharp proved himself incredibly valuable during the Golden Eagles' championship season, stepping in as a true freshman and seeing significant time on the field in all 11 contests...put 46 of 47 PATs through the uprights for a 97.9 PAT kicking percentage (second in the conference)...led the OVC in PAT attempts made with 46...finished the season tied for fifth in the conference in scoring with 6.6 points per game...tied for third in the OVC in kicking with 6.6 points per game...went 9-for-15 in field goal attempts on the season, including nailing a 49-yard FG against Tennessee State...Had 16 points on four PATs and four field goals that game... has made one appearance on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll.

BEFORE TECH: Zachary proved a valuable member of the team at Maryville High School as the team’s placekicker. A first-team all-state selection, he was named Tennessee Mr. Football on Special Teams. In his solid senior year, he was 10-for-13 on field goal tries with a long of 50 yards. He was 66-for-67 in PAT kicks. Sharp was the starting kicker for Maryville for four seasons, beginning his career with a Class 4A state championship victory in 2007. He capped it in December in Tucker Stadium with his team’s 6A title win over Smyrna. He set a state record by making 111 consecutive PAT kicks, and many of his kickoffs sailed for touchbacks.
