A hard-nosed, talented and versatile player, Zach spent his first season on the Tech roster as a redshirt and was ready to make a major impact in 2010 before injuries altered his plans...now coming back from knee surgery, he can still step into a big role if he's healthy...can add a wide variety of skills to the Golden Eagle offense as a strong runner and elusive receiver...strong and aggressive player who loves contact, making him an asset to special teams...a good blocker and tackler...effective ball carrier.

AT TECH (In 2010): Zach expected to play an important role in the backfield in his first season on the field...was off to a solid start when an injury slowed his progress during the middle of the season...returned to action late in the year, but suffered a season-ending knee injury that required surgery...did not have any statistics...valuable both to the offense and the special teams.

(In 2009):
Zach was a redshirt in his first season on the squad.

HIGH SCHOOL: A two-way standout at runningback and linebacker for the Cavaliers under coach Jerry Joslin...will work into the Golden Eagle roster as a ball carrier...has good hands and can catch the ball, making him a dual threat on offense...can have a bruising presence, lowering his shoulder to get the tough yard...considered to be a good blocker, as well...on offense, he ran 172 times for 941 yards and 10 touchdowns during his senior year...named to the Herald-Citizen All-Upper Cumberland first team...at linebacker, he tallied 42 tackles and 5.5 tackles-for-loss...provided CHS with a decisive 15-yard interception return for a touchdown in the Cavaliers’ 28-27 win over Siegel in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs...as a junior, he rushed for a team-high 643 yards with six touchdowns.

PERSONAL: The son of Samuel and Tammy Salada...birthday is October 28, 1990...full name is Zachary Jennes Salada...majoring in engineering.
