Cory boasts a combination of size and strength to make him a
prototypical tight end...effective blocker...runs good routes,
giving Tech an added weapon on offense...enrolled at Tech in
January 2009 after transferring from UAB...participated in the
spring drills before embarking on his Golden Eagle playing career
last season...a primary reasons that the tight end position could
become a bigger piece of the offense for the Golden
Eagles...excellent hands and can be a dangerous receiver...working
hard in the weight room to improve his strength...also working to
become a better blocker.
AT TECH - (In 2009): Cory lined up at tight end in
10 games in his first season as a Golden Eagle...caught one pass
for five yards...did an outstanding job blocking.
AT UAB: Cory was a redshirt in 2007 and was on the
Blazer roster in 2008.
HIGH SCHOOL: A two-way starter for three seasons
at Auburndale (Fla.) High School as a tight end and defensive
end...rated a two-star prospect out of high school by
Rivals.com...named third-team Class 4-A All-State as a senior at
Auburndale...also chosen first-team all-district by the Lakeland
Ledger, and first-team all-county.
