Kelechi has been among the team's most diligenet workers in the weight room...listed as the starter at the bull middle linebacker position heading into his senior season...selected as a team captain...plays with great technique...rarely out of position...one of the hardest-working players on the roster...was among the most improved players on the defensive side of scrimmage in 2009 and looks to parlay that into an outstanding season in 2010...shows leadership through his work ethic...does everything it takes to improve his game...a disciplined football player...full of potential and a student of the game...makes the most of his time in the film room, and understands what opponents are trying to do by formation...has become a trusted team leader on and off the field...his weight room feats have earned him an endearing nickname as 'The Freak'...Kelechi works hard every opportunity he gets and his efforts have landed him at the very top of the Iron Eagle leader board.

AT TECH - (In 2009): Kelechi played in 10 games including three as the starter at the middle (bull) linebacker position...ranked sixth on the team with 55 total tackles, including two games in double figures...had 12 tackles, one shy of his career-high, at Eastern Illinois along with 1.5 tackles-for-loss...had 10 tackles the following week against Southeast Missouri with two tackles-for-loss and a fumble caused...finished with 5.5 tackles-for-loss to rank second on the team...also forced a fumble against Murray State.

(In 2008):
Kelechi came off the bench to appear in nine games as a sophomore...finished the year with 12 total tackles...season-high was five tackles in victory over Central Methodist...had two tackles, including a tackle-for-loss, in season finale against Eastern Illinois.

(In 2007): Played in 10 of Tech's 11 games in his first season of action...averaged 3.1 tackles per game with 31 total tackles, including five solo stops...had 2.5 tackles-for-loss for six yards...one quarterback sack and one pass defended...had a career-best 13 tackles in the win over Concordia...opened the year with six tackles at Eastern Illinois in his first game as a Golden Eagle...had four stops at Auburn.

(In 2006): Kelechi received redshirt status for his first season on the roster.

HIGH SCHOOL: A four-year letterman for coach Ron Gartrell at Stephenson High School, Kelechi also earned letters with the wrestling and track & field teams...earned the Coach's Award and was a five-time area Defensive Player of the Week...helped win three region championships during his four-year career...as a senior he racked up incredible numbers including 160 total tackles and 15 tackles-for-loss...also had an interception and forced two fumbles...finished with 221 career tackles and 23 TFL.
