After starting his high school career being named the team's Freshman of the Year and rushing for more than 500 yards in 2004, Jake moved to the defensive side of scrimmage and became a standout at linebacker...three-year starter at his new position, he was a three-time all-area, all-region and all-Tri-State selection...led Dalton to its first regional championship in more than a decade, and was named a team captain and Defensive MVP...Despite playing in only eight games as a senior, he made 120 total tackles with 16 tackles-for-loss, four fumbles caused and one interception...coached by Jim Bennett and Kit Carpenter...piled up 380 total tackles in his final three seasons...earned four letters in the shot put, discus and 100m dash for the track & field team.
