Cass has had an interesting career with the Golden Eagles, playing quarterback as a freshman, wide receiver as a sophomore and back to signal-caller as a junior...he comes into his final season listed second on the depth chart at quarterback...really developed in that role during spring drills as he developed a much greater knowledge of the offensive system...a great athlete, he has added to his overall size and strength...has all the tools to be an effective quarterback and has now begun to gain experience...has a strong arm and the fastest feet among the QBs...was pressed into action at quarterback as a true freshman and gained important experience on the field in that key position...now back in that role he gives Tech plenty of depth under center...dangerous with the ball in his hands...great quickness...has the ability to make tacklers miss him...a battle-tested player who enjoys having the ball in his hands and making plays...potential to be a playmaker for the Golden Eagles...passing game really took a step forward during spring drills.

AT TECH (In 2009): Cass was back at quarterback as a junior and called signals in a backup role in eight contests...attempted just four passes, going 1-for-4 for 10 yards...carried the ball 21 times...gained 61 yards and lost 15, finishing with 46 net yards on the ground...scored two touchdowns, both coming in the season finale victory over Murray State when he rushed seven times for nine yards...top games were 15 yards on four carries against Austin Peay and 16 yards on three tries against Tennessee State.

(In 2008):
Cass lined up at wide receiver as a sophomore and saw action in seven games... caught five passes for 48 yards...biggest game was two receptions for 33 yards at Murray State.

(In 2007): After watching from the sidelines the first two games, Cass got onto the field against Concordia and played in all nine games after that...started the year as the No. 3 quarterback, but eventually moved into the starting spot due to injuries to Lee Sweeney and Josh Lowery...played most of the game against Austin Peay, and got the start against Tennessee State...eventually settled into a shuttle assignment with Sweeney, coming in-and-out of the contest on alternating plays...finished the year with 163 yards rushing on 43 carries, with five touchdowns...ranked third on the team in rushing yards, averaging 3.8 per carry...was 8-for-13 passing for 95 yards with two touchdowns and one interception...had three carries for 24 yards and scored two touchdowns against Concordia...his first career pass completion went for a touchdown against Tennessee State when he went 5-for-6 for 44 yards...best rushing game was 60 yards on 10 attempts with a touchdown against Austin Peay....at EKU he rushed for 24 yards and went 3-for-3 for 51 yards through the air with a 40-yard TD toss to Larry Shipp...actually posted the highest QB rating on the squad at 158.31, completing 61.5 percent of his tries...finished fourth on the team in scoring with 30 points...ranked first in the OVC in pass efficiency with a 158.3 quarterback rating.

HIGH SCHOOL: Cass was an award-winning quarterback at Tullahoma High School...finalist for 2006 Tennessee Mr. Football and was named to the Class 4A All-State team...after passing for 2,255 yards and 19 touchdowns and rushing for 525 yards and 14 scores, he was named first-team all-region and was voted the region MVP.
