COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech Athletics
Department has announced that the Golden Eagle football season
opener against Pikeville College in Tucker Stadium will kick off at
7 p.m. CT on Thursday, Sept. 10, one of two home night games for
coach Watson Brown’s team in 2009.
Tech will play two home games under the lights and three Saturday
afternoon contests. Starting times for Tech’s 2009 schedule
were announced today by Director of Athletics Mark Wilson.
Tech opens the 2009 football season at home against Pikeville
before hitting the road for Saturday night game at Eastern Kentucky
(6 p.m. CT Saturday, Sept. 19) to kick off Ohio Valley Conference
play.
The game at Kansas State on Saturday, Sept. 26, is slated to begin
at 1:10 p.m. CT in Manhattan, Kan.
Tech’s second home game will also be under the lights when
the Golden Eagles host Austin Peay on Saturday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m.

That’s the final night game of the year for the Golden
Eagles, who will kick off the remaining three home games at 1:30
p.m. CT (Oct. 24 vs. Southeast Missouri; Oct. 31 vs. Tennessee
State; and Nov. 21 vs. Murray State).
Conference road games are scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. CT at UT
Martin (Oct. 10), and 1:30 p.m. CT at Eastern Illinois (Oct. 17).
Tech’s non-conference tilt at Georgia (Nov. 7) and the OVC
road game at Jacksonville State (Nov. 14) are both slated for 12
p.m. CT starts.
Due to the possibility of television affecting the schedule, all
start times and dates are subject to change.
Season tickets are on sale, including a Family Plan ticket for $75
and a 10-ticket “Back the Golden Eagles” Business Plan
for $200. An adult reserved seat season ticket is $36, while youth
and senior citizen tickets are $25 each.
Individual-game tickets for Tech’s five home games, as well
as tickets to road games at Kansas and Georgia, may also be
purchased.
