Tennessee Tech Baseball Weekend Preview (Apr. 1-2)

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech baseball team will get an early start to its weekend action with Easter Sunday on the horizon, playing host to Murray State in a three-game, two-day series beginning Thursday, Apr. 1 at Quillen Field and Bush Stadium at the Averitt Express Baseball Complex.

First pitch for the series opener has been pushed up to 4:00 p.m. CT, two hours earlier than the originally scheduled 6:00 p.m. start. The Golden Eagles and Racers will square off in doubleheader action on Friday, Apr. 2, beginning with a contest at 1:00 p.m. Game two of the day is slated for an approximate 4:30 p.m. start. All three games are set to be broadcast on ESPN+ with Dylan Vazzano on the call.

Tech enter the weekend after a midweek loss to No. 1 Vanderbilt in Nashville Tuesday evening, a 12-5 decision in favor of the Commodores. The Golden Eagles have played just five home games on the year due to different circumstances involving the weather, but have worked up a 4-1 mark in those contests.

Murray State collected a pair of victories in three tries at Memphis over the weekend, defeating the Tigers 9-5 on Friday. Playing a Sunday doubleheader, the Racers rallied from a 6-1 loss in the first contest to edge Memphis 4-2 in the series finale.
