BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech pitcher Alex Hursey took home his second weekly honor from the Ohio Valley Conference Monday afternoon, claiming the league's Pitcher of the Week award.

Hursey tossed a nine-inning shutout in Tech's 10-0 win over Belmont on Sunday. After the Golden Eagles bullpen was stretched thin during a 12-inning game the day before, Hursey was able to do it himself and keep the Bruins scoreless despite the wind blowing out the entire game.

The junior allowed 10 hits (9 singles and a double) and struck out two without walking a batter. Hursey allowed two hits in the fifth but finished the game by retiring 12 of the last 14 batters he faced, including a perfect ninth inning. With the win, the lefty improved to 7-3 on the season; the seven wins are tied for third-most in the OVC this season.

The southpaw also took home OVC Pitcher of the Week honors on Mar. 19 after pitching eight shutout innings in an 8-0 win over West Virginia. He retired the final 16 batters he faced in the contest and struck out eight on the day.

The No. 19 nationally-ranked Golden Eagle baseball team will make its return to the diamond Tuesday evening, taking on Vanderbilt at Hawkins Field in a 6:30 p.m. CT match-up.
