Tech puts 13-game winning streak on line against Jacksonville State, Friday moved to 1 pm CT

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech baseball team is back at Bush Stadium at the Averitt Express Baseball Complex this weekend, putting the nation's longest winning streak of 13 games to the test against Jacksonville State.

The Golden Eagles, who received votes in this week's National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division I poll, will host the Gamecocks in Ohio Valley Conference play beginning with a 1 p.m. CT contest on Friday, Apr. 6. Game time was moved up to a 1 p.m. start with impending inclement weather expected in Cookeville in the evening.

Game two of the series is slated for a 2 p.m. first pitch on Saturday with the series finale to follow on Sunday at 1 p.m. With more inclement weather expected in the Cookeville area throughout the weekend, fans are encouraged to check social media and the TTUSports.com website for updates concerning this weekend's schedule.

The Golden Eagle offense has continued its record-setting pace in 2018, leading the nation in batting average (.354), doubles per game (2.93), home runs (59), home runs per game (2.19), on base percentage (.447), runs (304), scoring (11.3) and slugging percentage (.625). Tech also ranks second nationally in hits (358), third in doubles (79), seventh in win/loss percentage (.815), 11th in sacrifice flies (17) and 16th in bases on balls (161).
