Tennessee Tech Baseball Weekend Preview (3/8)
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech baseball team returns to the friendly confines of Bush Stadium at the Averitt Express Baseball Complex Friday afternoon, opening up Ohio Valley Conference play with a three-game series against in-state foe UT Martin with a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. CT.
The second game of the doubleheader is expected to begin around 4:30 p.m. The series finale is currently scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday. With rain and inclement expected in the area this weekend, fans are encouraged to check social media and the TTUSports.com website for updates concerning this weekend's schedule.
The Golden Eagle offense is off to a record-setting pace in 2018, leading the nation in batting average (.378), home runs (29), home runs per game (2.64), on base percentage (.471), slugging percentage (.682) and scoring (13.3). Tech also ranks in the top-10 nationally in doubles per game (second), runs (second), doubles per game (fifth) and hits (sixth).
