BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech second baseman John Ham took home his first weekly accolades from the Ohio Valley Conference Monday afternoon, claiming a share of the league's Player of the Week award.

In three games against Little Rock, Ham hit .500 (6-for-12) with five runs scored, two doubles, a triple, home run, five RBI, a 1.083 slugging percentage and .538 on-base percentage.

The junior college transfer from Dyersburg State Community College smacked a three-run home run that proved to be the game-winner in the season opener, as the Golden Eagles pulled out the 7-3 victory. Ham tallied a pair of doubles and scored a run in the middle game of the series and concluded the weekend by going 2-for-3 with a triple and two runs scored in a 17-7 win.

Ham tallied multiple hits in all three contests while playing flawless defense at second base. He helped turn three of the team's five double plays in over the weekend as well.

The Golden Eagles return to action at Bush Stadium at the Averitt Express Baseball Complex Friday, Feb. 23, opening a three-game series against Illinois State beginning at 3 p.m. CT.
