2017 Tennessee Tech Baseball Schedule

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech baseball team officially announced a 56-game slate for the 2017 regular season, a year full of anticipation as the Golden Eagles look to make a run at its fifth consecutive Ohio Valley Conference Tournament appearance.

"As with every season, we are excited to play the games," head coach Matt Bragga said. "All of the hours the guys put in refining their skills and talents are driven by the schedule itself. There are other reasons guys work with passion leading up to the start of the season, but the games are the so called pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. They can't wait for February to get here."

Bush Stadium at the Averitt Express Baseball Complex will feature 29 contests in 2017, including the program's first nine games of the new season. Tech will kick off its latest campaign with a four-game set against Toledo, boasting contests on Feb. 17, a doubleheader on Feb. 18 and the series finale on Feb. 19.

Also making weekend visits to Cookeville on the year will be Bradley, SIUE, Eastern Illinois, Murray State, Belmont and Morehead State. Tech's midweek competition in its own backyard will include appearances by Central Arkansas, Illinois State, Alabama A&M, Lipscomb and Middle Tennessee.

The Golden Eagles will get their first taste of the road Mar. 3, making a trip down to Daytona Beach, Fla. for a three-game series against Bethune-Cookman. Tech will also make weekend trips to UT Martin, Austin Peay, Jacksonville State, Southern Illinois, Southeast Missouri and Eastern Kentucky.

As for TTU's midweek competition taking the team away from Cookeville, the purple and gold will have match-ups at Lipscomb, UNC Asheville, Alabama A&M and Middle Tennessee. Two featured games also represent midweek road trips for the Golden Eagles, a Mar. 28 tilt at in-state rival Tennessee and an Apr. 11 affair with in-state foe Vanderbilt.

Tech will close out the regular season with a three-game series in the comfort of Bush Stadium, playing host to Morehead State.

"The anticipation of putting on the uniform and taking the field to see how good we can be is such a great driving force to all the young men that play this amazing game," Bragga continued. "So announcing the schedule is exciting because it means another season of college baseball is fast approaching and we are getting close to seeing the harvest from all the work. I can't wait to take the field this spring with this incredible group of young men we have."

Admission to all Tennessee Tech baseball home games is free of charge and open to the public.
