Tennessee Tech Baseball Midweek Preview (5/9)
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech baseball team kicks off a week of play in Nashville Tuesday evening, making the trip down I-40 for a midweek affair at in-state rival Lipscomb before taking on Ohio Valley Conference foe Belmont in a three-game weekend series.
Tuesday's 6 p.m. CT contest at Lipscomb represents a rematch between the two programs, which met back in March in Bush Stadium at the Averitt Express Baseball Complex. Tech claimed the victory in what turned out to be a barn burner, a 14-11 decision that saw the two sides trade six runs apiece in the eighth inning.
The Golden Eagles enter Tuesday's tilt after taking two out of three contests from the OVC's top team over the weekend, defeating Southeast Missouri 7-2 Friday evening and 4-3 Saturday afternoon. The Bisons fell twice last weekend to Atlantic Sun Conference rival North Florida after winning the first contest in the three-game series, 6-1.
