Tennessee Tech Baseball Weekend Preview (4/7)
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech baseball team continues its four-game road stretch Friday afternoon, kicking off a three-game Ohio Valley Conference series at Eastern Illinois at 3 p.m. CT, just three days after tying the program record with a mind-boggling 34 runs Tuesday afternoon.
Game two of the series is set for a 1 p.m. first pitch Saturday with the series finale scheduled for a 1 p.m. start on Sunday. All three contests will be webstreamed live on the OVC Digital Network.
The Golden Eagles enter the weekend after rolling to a 34-6 victory at Alabama A&M in midweek action. Multiple team and individual records fell in the contest, with the new team standard for hits set at 26. Freshman Kevin Strohschein set or tied several school marks, including a new high for RBI in a contest with nine. Eastern Illinois is coming off a 9-7 road loss at Illinois, but did snag its first OVC victory Sunday afternoon, defeating Murray State, 9-3.
