COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – For the third consecutive year, Tennessee Tech shortstop Dylan Bosheers has been recognized for the mastery of his craft, as the senior was placed on the Brooks Wallace Shortstop of the Year Award Watch List last week.

A semifinalist for the honor last season, as well as a three-time All-American, the Lawrenceburg, Tenn. native has continued to make a major impact on the Golden Eagle baseball program in his final season in the purple and gold.

On the year, he owns a .318 batting average with 14 doubles, a triple and seven home runs. His 43 runs scored leads the team while his 33 RBI and .568 slugging percentage rank second. He owns a .410 on base percentage, thanks to 21 walks and 47 hits and has been spectacular on defense with a fielding percentage of .963.

Over his career, Bosheers has missed just three games (this season due to injury), paving his way into the top 10 career marks in several statistical categories.

Following last Wednesday's trip to Alabama A&M, Bosheers tied the program record for career doubles, collecting the 54th two-bagger of his career to tie Mike Meihls. After playing in his 207th career game (all of which he's started) he moved to sixth all time. He also ranks second in runs scored with 184.

He currently is second all-time in hits (257), fourth in at bats (789), third with 407 total bases, fourth in career RBI with 169. With seven home runs on the year, Bosheers has moved into a tie for seventh place all time with 28 career bombs.

"Some of the small and mid-major schools don't get the same publicity as a lot of the larger schools do, but they definitely play some high-caliber baseball," said Tyler Young, Wallace Award co-chair. "Those guys have quality numbers and they deserve to be on this list."

Several conferences have multiple players on the list, led by the SEC and Pac-12, each with five. The West Coast Conference has four players on the list. The ACC, Big South and Big West conferences each have three players on the list.

"Those are all definitely well-known conferences within Division I baseball," said Larry Wallace, co-chair of the Wallace Award committee. "But there are 23 conferences represented on the list. There's great baseball being played all across the country, and it's great to be able to recognize that."
