COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The awards and honors are beginning to pile up for Tennessee Tech shortstop Dylan Bosheers as the junior was named a semifinalist for the Brooks Wallace Shortstop of the Year Award recently.

Bosheers is among just 10 shortstops in the nation left on the watch list and leads all semifinalists in several offensive categories, including batting average (.368), home runs (11), and RBI (56).

The junior has already been honored this year as one of the best players in the nation after being named a semifinalist for the Dick Howser Trophy. Bosheers was also named to the Louisville Slugger All-American Second Team by Collegiate Baseball newspaper, becoming the first shortstop in Golden Eagle history to garner All-American honors. He also grabbed All-American Fourth Team accolades from College Sports Madness this season.

A native of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., Bosheers has started every game of his Golden Eagle career, and has proven throughout to be one of the better defenders from the very start. He put it all together this season, batting .368 with 86 hits, 66 runs scored, 56 RBI, 14 doubles, 11 home runs, and eight stolen bases. He has made just nine errors for a .965 fielding percentage in 59 games this season.

Bosheers was also named to the Midseason Brooks Wallace Award Watch List last season after posting then-career numbers both offensively and defensively. In his career he has been named to the Ohio Valley Conference All-Freshman Team, All-OVC Second Team, and most recently the All-OVC First Team. Earlier this season, Bosheers was named OVC Player of the Week after putting up huge numbers in a sweep of Jacksonville State.

"It is not only the skills demonstrated on the field, but how these players represent themselves off the field which is what makes the Brooks Wallace Award so powerful," said Steve Mikolajczak, team sports division manager, Mizuno USA. "The group of players nominated for the award represent what it means to be a top baseball player and teammate."

The Brooks Wallace Award, sponsored by Mizuno, recognizes the nation's top shortstop and will be presented during the National College Baseball Hall of Fame's Night of Champions on June 28 in Lubbock, Texas.

"Each of these players has recorded great statistics all season," said Larry Wallace, award co-chair. "They each bring something to the table and will make the selection of the three finalists difficult."
