Bosheers named adidas® OVC Co-Player of the Week for first time

By Mike Lehman, TTU Sports Information Coordinator

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – One of the most consistent players on the Golden Eagles all year, junior Dylan Bosheers grabbed league recognition for his brilliant play, earning adidas® OVC Co-Player of the Week honors Monday afternoon, the first such honor of his career.

In four Tech victories last week Bosheers hit .533 (8-for-15) with eight runs scored, a double, two home runs, six RBI, a .550 on-base percentage and a 1.000 slugging percentage. His two-run home run in Saturday's game proved to be the game-winning runs as Tech topped Jacksonville State 11-8 to complete a three-game sweep. He started the JSU series by going 3-for-4 with a home run and three runs scored and was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in the middle game of the series.

A shortstop from Lawrenceville, Tenn., Bosheers has been one of the best overall players in the OVC all season, currently ranking in the top five in batting average (.373), slugging percentage (.615), on base percentage (.454), runs (50), hits (60), RBI (38), doubles (13), home runs (8), total bases (99), sac flies (6), and assists (123).

Here's a look at the rest of the awards in the OVC this week:
