Golden Eagles host Lipscomb in final non-conference regular season contest

By Mike Lehman, TTU Sports Information

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - Momentum is sure to be a key for the Tennessee Tech baseball team as it heads into the final week of the 2013 regular season. The Golden Eagles will host Lipscomb in a rematch of February's match-up in Nashville that saw the Bisons defeat Tech 12-1.

Both teams head into the 6 p.m. CDT contest with momentum on their sides. Tech is coming off a key Ohio Valley Conference series sweep of SEMO, keeping the team in first place by a full game. Lipscomb has won four of its last five games, including two in a row this weekend at Jacksonville.

The Golden Eagles own 36 wins on the year, second most in program history and just three short of the record set by David Mays' 1997 team. Tech's 22 OVC wins are the second most in league history, trailing only Jacksonville State's 23 in 2008.

Taking the hill on Tuesday for the Golden Eagles will be junior righty Garrett Baugh, in search of his fifth win of the season.
