JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - For the first time in 33 games, the Tennessee Tech baseball team finds itself on the losing end of a shutout, falling to East Tennessee State Tuesday evening, 3-0 in Johnson City.

The Bucs were led by the efforts of Dylan Tritsch, Chris Riopedre, and Matt Sorrow, who drove in all three runs for ETSU. Logan Rice earned the win for the Bucs, pitching four innings with four hits allowed and three walks.

Both Daniel Miles and Dylan Bosheers grabbed two hits apiece in the contest, but the Golden Eagles were held scoreless for the first time of the 2013 season due to clutch pitching by the ETSU staff. Tech threatened on several occasions in the contest, but the Bucs' were able to turn away those chances to hand the Golden Eagles their second consecutive loss.

The loss marked just the second time all season that Tech lost two in a row and the first time since mid-February.

Cookeville native Ross Spurgeon earned his first career start as a Golden Eagle, tossing four innings. He allowed just three hits and one earned run while striking out four ETSU batters.

The Golden Eagles will continue its road trip with a three-game set in Clarksville, Tenn. beginning on Friday, April 5. Tech will take on OVC foe Austin Peay in a battle for the top spot in the Ohio Valley Conference.
